Phoenix Data Corporation received the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce 2012 Business of the Year Award

Dr. Russ Eberhart of Phoenix Data Corporation receives the 2012 Computational Intelligence Society Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award


This award is given by the Computational Intelligence Society, a society of the Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and reconizes "significant contributions to early concepts and sustained developments in the field of evolutionary computation." Dr. Eberhart (left) and his collaborator Dr. James Kennedy (middle) recieved the award for their invention of Particle Swarm Optimization. For this work, Dr. Eberhart was given a Prestigious External Awards Recognition as Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at IUPUI. Prestigious External Awards Recognition recipients are faculty members who have been recognized by state, national, and international professional organizations for their academic achievements. They signify not only the "best of the best" at IUPUI but the "best of the best" to a broader national audience as well.
AWARDS FOR 2011
Phoenix Data Corporation was named 2011 Technology Innovator of the Year in the 8th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run worldwide, and have been hailed as the world's premier business awards. Phoenix Data Corporation was recognized for its unique application of Particle Swarm Optimization, a new patented technology which rapidly calculates multiple optimal solutions in ever-changing environments. Phoenix has focused this technology on creating strategic and tactical advantages in electronic warfare for the United States military, where one project for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research reduced mission planning time from two days to approximately 1.5 seconds. Phoenix Data Corporation is currently developing additional industry applications. Expansion of the company’s existing technology work includes engineering services, IT support, electronic Image conversion and integration, and technical personnel for the government, the U.S. military, health care and private industry.
Carol Curran, President and CEO, appointed to the 2011 National Advisory Board of Key4Women. In this capacity, Carol will serve as one of 23 women business owners, leaders and experts from a cross section of industries. Insights from the advisory board of the challenges faced by women business owners in today's economy helps drive the Key4Women's strategy and program enhancements, part of KeyCorp's focus on women in business.
Dr. Russ Eberhart, Chief Technology Officer, chosen by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as a winner of the 2012 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award. The award is the international organization's highest honor in the field of evolutionary computation, recognizing significant contributions to innovative concepts and ongoing development in pioneering new evolutionary computation technologies and their applications. Comprised of more than 400,000 members in over 160 countries, IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
